Kira Findling is a writer and artist based in Berkeley, California. They’re a student at the California Institute of Integral Studies, where they’re pursuing a Master’s degree in Somatic Psychology. Their films have premiered at festivals across the United States, including the National Film Festival for Talented Youth (Programmers’ Pick), and their writing has been published in Salty, Liberated Arts, and Wilder Voice Magazine, among other publications. Kira’s play DYKE TV was produced by Left Coast Theatre Co. in July 2025.

In the documentary film world, Kira worked as an archival researcher for the feature documentary 31st State and an assistant editor at Citizen Film for Prognosis: Notes on Living, What We Carry With Us, and other projects. Additionally, they worked with Vivien Hillgrove on Vivien’s Wild Ride and with Jessica Anthony at THREE FRAMES, and as an assistant editor and archival researcher for Yoav Potash at Headfirst Arts & Media.

Kira graduated from Oberlin College in 2019 with degrees in Cinema Studies and Comparative American Studies. While in college, they interned at A+E Networks and on the set of Amazon Studios’ Transparent. They are a lifelong lover of archives, nature, and theater, and find great joy in building artistic community. 🌈
